The Basics

Bell Schedule

Our school day is structured to give students a balanced mix of learning, play, and rest. Here’s a quick overview of the regular and shortened day schedules. See the full schedule HERE.

• Regular Days (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri):

  • Start: 9:30 a.m. with Morning Circle

  • Kindergarten Dismissal: 3:35 p.m.

  • Grades Dismissal: 3:45 p.m.

• Shortened Days (Wed & Parent/Teacher Conferences):

  • Start: 9:30 a.m. with Morning Circle

  • Kindergarten Dismissal: 2:20 p.m.

  • Grades Dismissal: 2:30 p.m.

Before & Aftercare

On-Site YMCA

• Drop-off : Opens at 8:00 a.m. at the Jones Street side door, leading to the multipurpose room. Ring the doorbell for entry and sign your child in.

• Pickup : Enter through the same side door to sign your child out from the multipurpose room. Program runs till 6:30 p.m.

Aftercare

• Tel-Hi & Salesian: Teachers will release students to designated programs in the upper yard, where students walk together to their aftercare destinations.

Free Lunch & Snacks for All Students

At Yick Wo, every child receives free lunch and snacks provided by the San Francisco Unified School District. Our meals are nutritious, varied, and ensure that all students have the energy to stay focused and active throughout the day.

We need lunch volunteers! Starting at noon, stop by even for 30 minutes to facilitate lunchtime - opening lunch boxes and packages (especially for Kinder), keeping the peace, and encouraging healthy eating.
