Why We Fundraise

Yick Wo Elementary is committed to nurturing each student's potential through enriching programs that go beyond the standard curriculum. These programs—funded entirely by the PTO—foster a love for learning and provide students with experiences that shape well-rounded, lifelong learners.

Yick Wo’s programs and achievements, like earning the National Blue Ribbon Award, are a testament to our commitment to academic excellence and closing achievement gaps. However, these programs are not funded by SFUSD. To reach our goal of $185,000 for the 2024-2025 year, we rely on your support.

    Reading Recovery & Math Support: Focused support in math, reading and writing for individual students, alongside teacher development, enhances comprehension, communication, and learning.

    STEM & Digital Literacy: Programs like Mystery Doug and iXL encourage curiosity in science, math, and technology, preparing students for a digital world.

  • Experiential Learning

    Field Trips: Hands-on learning through trips around San Francisco fosters cultural awareness, community connection, and a deeper understanding of students' city and environment.

    Mention "Yick Wo School" at checkout, our school will receive 10% of purchases back in the form of a Sloat Gift Card. Also, the school with the highest participation in the Growing up Green fundraiser will receive 20% of purchases back.

  • Sports Basement

    Mention "Yick Wo" at checkout, and you’ll enjoy a 10% discount on your purchase. Plus, Sports Basement will donate 5% of the purchase amount to the Yick Wo PTO. It’s that simple! Share this tip with family and friends—anyone can mention "Yick Wo" to save and support our school.
